Jewellery Care

Each White Clay Mountain creation is handcrafted with intention from lightweight polymer clay or a combination of gemstones, paired with high-quality stainless steel components. To help keep your earrings looking beautiful and ensure they last, please follow these simple care tips.

With just a little extra care, your unique pieces will stay a beautiful part of your collection for years to come!

    • Polymer clay is flexible but can break if bent or dropped. Try to avoid applying too much pressure to your earrings.

    • Gemstones can scratch or chip if they come into contact with hard surfaces, so take care not to drop or bang your jewellery against other objects.

    • Polymer clay, resin, gemstones, and stainless steel are generally waterproof, even saltwater-proof.

    • Some surface treatments on polymer clay (e.g., paints, mica powders) may only be water resistant, so please check in or ensure that you remove your earrings before swimming, showering, or exercising.

    • Jewellery can be affected by chemicals found in hairsprays, perfumes, and lotions. Put on your earrings after you’ve finished applying these products.

    • Avoid prolonged sun exposure, as certain colours or gemstones may fade over time when exposed to direct sunlight.

    • Use a soft, damp cloth or a cotton swab to gently wipe any dirt or makeup from the surface of clay components or gemstones. Avoid using harsh chemicals or cleaners.

    • Stainless steel is super low-maintenance and tarnish free, but if you notice fingerprints or smudges, wipe the metal with a soft, lint-free cloth.

    • Keep your earrings in a safe, dry place, ideally in a jewellery box or pouch to prevent scratches or damage.

  • Owner/Creator

    BEC

I've been a painter and chalk pastel artist for 20+ years and have shown, sold, and donated artworks. I followed a career in business, and I’m also a strategist/analyst, business coach, and mum. During my Masters and PhD study, I took a special interest in human strengths and contagion of positive wellbeing. I have lectured and published academic papers in this area, and my genuine passion to spread wellbeing shines through in everything I do.

I was born in Wollongong, grew up in Woonona, and reside in Farmborough Heights; a gorgeous leafy suburb with a wonderful community and a glimpse of the sea from my wrap around balcony. I absolutely adore the Illawarra region and my pieces are inspired by the beauty in the life and landscape here. Every creation has a story, and most are personal and close to my heart.

With my art, I hope to impart the joy and serenity of mindful making and living beautifully wedged between the escarpment and the sea… morning coffee, afternoon tea, or evening red in hand.

    JOY (ex-racing greyhound)

Likes: sneakily stealing items to hide in her bed, slow schniff-schnoff walks around the neighborhood, full-body leaning in for pats.

Dislikes: when her older brother won’t play, cats, when the humans don’t provide infinite pats.
